Our philosophy

The educational philosophy of the Academy obeys the divine mandate to educate the hand, the mind and heart. The harmonious development of these characteristics in each student, constitutes the educational goal of each institution. We believe that, “True Education it means more than the pursuit of a certain course of study; means more than the preparation for current life, encompasses the entire being and the entire period of existence accessible to the men”. It is the harmonious development of the physical, mental and spiritual faculties. Prepare the student for the joy of serving in this world and for a higher joy provided by a broader service in the world to come. (Education, p. 11)

The Academy recognizes that academic preparation is conflict-free and nonconflicting nor is it incompatible with genuine Christian faith. On the contrary, he believes that the powers must be revitalized mental if the Christian is to fully perceive the true nature of man and his relationship with God and neighbor. Hence, the Western Adventist Academy upholds the belief that every human being, created in the image of God, is endowed with the faculty of
think and do. Therefore, we believe that: “The work of true education consists in
develop this faculty, in educating young people to be thinkers and not mere reflectors of man’s thoughts, contemplating the great realities of duty and destiny, then the mind will expand and become stronger ”. Instead of educated weaklings, the institutions knowledge should produce strong men to think and act, men who are masters and not slaves of circumstance, men possessing openness of mind, clarity of thought and courage to defend their convictions ”. (Ellen G. White Education p. 15).

The fullest development of intellect and character is possible only if the body
is physically fit. The mind cannot fully function in a diseased body, therefore
so much; intellect, character, and health must be regarded as inseparable goals in making provision for the total development of the student.

Educational Program

Our objectives include the following aspects:

Physical: Provide an optimal state of health, physical capacity and manual dexterity.
Mental: Train the student to obtain a maximum development of the intellect, logical reasoning and positive critical thinking.
Social: It is expected that a behavior of excellent social relations with their peers in the environment that surrounds them is manifested.
Religious: The achievement of this objective will manifest itself in the exercise of genuine religious practice founded on the love of God.

Education is one of the means that exist to train and prepare human beings for the future. Offering a high quality of education accompanied by training in Christian principles and values becomes a major force that will be very useful for your performance throughout your life.

The Western Adventist Academy is committed not only to the pedagogical quality and academic performance of the students, but also to their integral formation. This commitment could not be fulfilled in its entirety, without the participation of each member of our school community, which is made up of students, parents, teachers, and administrative personnel; makes that day by day with attitude, discipline, patience and work, the objectives set are achieved.

We consider the educational process in an integral way and promote the interaction between theory and practice, thinking and doing, reason and emotion, the individual and the collective, the cause and the effect; understanding that both educators and students can teach and learn.

This is achieved taking into consideration the performance of each person in our institution. We strive for our students to make the most of the experience with us, being clear about what they want to achieve in their performance as students, in their life for the future and for eternity, which is our greatest desire.

From our parents, we ask for encouragement and responsibility with the formation of their children, making them active participants in discipline, values and attitudes in personal and academic life.

From our teachers and administrative staff, we expect their full identification with our mission, vision and Christian values, as well as continuous improvement in the development of their activities, with the aim of offering an excellent service to students and parents.

Our pedagogy is based on the premises of a Christian education and on the commitment to guide all didactic activities towards quality in the teaching-learning process and the natural integration of faith and teaching.

Our commitment is to continue working, improving day by day, preparing children and youth for the joy of serving in this world and for a higher joy provided by a broader service in the world to come.

“The wise will shine like the brightness of the firmament; and that
they teach justice to many, they will be like eternal stars ”.
